Petracovich (aka Jessica Peters)
Brings the noise gently

Jessica Peters lives in Santa Barbara, but she grew up in Sonoma Count.  She moonlights as Petracovich and it is via this persona - named after her Russian great-grandfather, who had an almost mystical relationship to music - that she channels a melodic, ambient space-pop that will soothe the most savage beast.  With layer upon layer of keyboard, drum beats, and guitar carrying her ethereal voice as if on clouds, Petracovich’s first release, blue cotton skin, is a dreamy, mellow record that rocks when it feels like rocking.  But still, it’s a shy album, the kind that you want to handle gently and tell your friends about.  She plays at Zebulon’s Lounge on Sunday, Aug. 17.
